In February of 2019, CRI purchased an 84-acre camp in Blue Ridge, VA. formerly known as “Camp Jaycee.”
Thanks to generous partnership, the property now serves as our headquarters for global relief operations, crisis response training, and administrative offices.
The camp is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains alongside Jefferson National Forest with views of the historic Blue Ridge Parkway with easy access to the Appalachian Trail.
Our facility enables us to run year-round events, mission schools as well as host retreats, church groups and conferences.
It also enables you to come for an overnight visit, volunteer with our staff or rent camp or book your next personal or church retreat.

Mission Base Projects
The CRI Base welcomes church teams and groups that would like to come to serve the CRI Base on a special project. With travel lock-downs, many churches have postponed mission trips. Your service at the CRI Base directly helps us to make a greater impact on people who are suffering in the midst of crisis. Contact our team to learn more. A combination of teaching, training, and ministry times can be facilitated by our staff or DIY. We can help you customize your visit to make it a memorable experience!
Come get away from all the noise and chaos and enjoy a personal or group retreat at the CRI Base. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains alongside Jefferson National Forest with views of the historic Blue Ridge Parkway this makes it an amazing place to get reconnected with God and enjoy nature.
Our facilities are available to your business, group or church for day events, picnics, weddings, photography or for a custom event.
The CRI Base is available to overnight guests who just want to visit and not participate in our volunteer program or scheduled programming or events. All must apply and clear a personal background check.
Volunteering & Staff
Come serve with us at the CRI base either short-term or on staff in areas like farming, hospitality, cooking, groundskeeper, admin, event coordination, training, deployment operations, relief operations, and more.
Short-term volunteers, called “Mission Allies” are welcomed up to thirty days and longer-term volunteers can apply as staff.
You do not have to be a CRI trained responder to serve as a Mission Ally. However, background checks are required for all participants. Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian or parent.
We are a missional community of all ages and giftings, living and working together at our global relief headquarters and training center.
We gather for meals corporately and meet daily for prayer and worship. We operate in different roles daily to run the base, our relief operations, farm and host events.
We are in a rural mountain area, and there are many trails nearby if you enjoy the outdoors. The city of Roanoke and shopping is close by.

We would love to offer you to stay for free, but unfortunately, we cannot use funds designated for disaster relief to cover the expense of volunteer meals, electricity, water, wifi, etc. In the same manner, regarding staff, our heart is to offer an affordable, all-inclusive place to live so they can labor full-time as Crisis Missionaries but we cannot cover staff living expenses.
