Turkey Earthquake Relief

Since February 6, 2023, Türkiye and Syria have experienced a series of massive earthquakes.  These and thousands of aftershocks (over 9,000) caused significant destruction, claiming more than 53,300 lives.

The United Nations estimates about 1.5 million people were left homeless and are presently taking refuge in temporary shelters, hotels, public facilities, or still on the streets. At least 80,000 injured people are reported to be hospitalized.  The Turkish government reported 173,000 buildings have so far been recorded as collapsed or severely damaged.

Within a short period after the initial quakes, CRI had a team on the ground.  The team conducted strategic meetings with local contacts and established a base in Iskenderun, from which we have operated since early February.

CRI has partnered with local churches to support them in their efforts to deliver life-saving supplies.  In addition, our teams have been very busy helping assemble/build temporary shelters for families and distributing boxes filled with food, hygiene products, goodies for the children, and other needful items to families in desperate need.

If you are interested in joining one of our teams, please click on an available trip or wave date below for detailed information and to apply.
