Sustainable Rabbitry Workshop

Easy to care for, affordable, and rapid reproducing rabbits are an excellent addition to your family homestead or lifestyle of personal preparedness. Join us at the CRI Base for a breeding to butcher; butcher to table, sustainable rabbitry workshop. The workshop limited to eight participants.

Part 1 begins @ 10:00 am

Will cover breeding, general care, feeding, waste management, health concerns, lifespan management, and cold composting. Lunch is included

Part 2 begins @ 1:00 pm

We will focus on butchering, harvesting, meat cuts, cleaning, and safely processing rabbits. Each participant will have the opportunity to perform each learning objective actively. Cooking, preparation, and storage tips will be included. Participants will have the option to take home the butchered stock or donate to the base kitchen.

We will be in the barn, so dress for the weather. Prepare to get a bit dirty as the class involves handing rabbits, feeding, and cleaning as you participate in active learning.

Pre-registration is required to ensure the farm has enough rabbit stock for each participant and a proper student to instructor ratio.

Overnight accommodations and meals are available but requires an additional registration fee and a CRI-run background check.
