Update from Lesbos, Greece

Every Life Jacket Has A Story

By Mike Wyatt, CRI Deployment Director

In the Northern end of the island of Lesbos, Greece is a lighthouse where CRI teams are on the ground, ministering the love of God and reaching out to refugees seeking safe shelter.

Refugees coming from Turkey in the boats are drawn to the lighthouse as it flashes as a beacon of light in the midst of darkness and confusion many of these refugees are facing. (You can see Turkey in the background in the photos below) But as we know, a lighthouse exists to also warn seafarers of danger. This is a very rocky, dangerous area. Some do not make it.

CRI is partnering with an organization called EuroRelief in this deployment to care for the foreigner and stranger and help refugees land safely. EuroRelief consistently sends teams to this very lighthouse area to help refugee when they land – while others may only work the more easily accessible beaches. Our partnership is making the Gospel accessible to hundreds who may have not ever heard it before both in word and in deed.

Thank you to our partners for making this outreach possible.
