After weeks without propane for cooking, the deaf school campus outside Montego Bay can finally prepare meals again, thanks to our amazing partners at Fuel Relief Fund! Their generous donors and expert logistics (police escort included) delivered exactly what this marginalized community needed post-Hurricane Melissa. “We can now cook. We can eat. God bless you.” Huge shout-out and blessings to Fuel Relief Fund!
Catastrophic Hurricane Hits Jamaica
Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm, made landfall in Jamaica on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. This slow-moving, rapidly intensifying hurricane has caused widespread devastation across Jamaica and surrounding regions, including torrential rains, catastrophic winds, severe flooding, landslides, and major damage to homes, infrastructure, and power networks.
Crisis Response International (CRI) is actively engaged in relief and recovery efforts in Montego Bay, Jamaica, following a devastating hurricane. Our ministry is focused on addressing immediate needs, supporting local churches, and fostering hope through the love of Jesus.
Resource Distribution
CRI teams are delivering critical supplies to communities impacted by the hurricane, particularly in the hillsides above Montego Bay.
Our efforts focus on providing tarps, hygiene kits, and solar lights, as well as solar-powered audio Bibles, to families whose homes were damaged or destroyed. Additionally, we are partnering with local communities to distribute water filtration systems, ensuring that clean water reaches the most vulnerable populations.
Church Muck-Out
CRI is supporting a local Jamaican church in Montego Bay that sustained severe roof damage during the hurricane. We are calling on more responders for waves 4 and 5 to continue these projects.
Serving the YWAM Base
CRI is partnering with the Youth With A Mission (YWAM) base in Montego Bay to amplify our impact. We are providing logistical support to coordinate and distribute relief supplies efficiently to affected areas.
