Daily Situation Report

UPDATE #19

Crisis Response International shares a powerful final update from Kerr County, Texas, where the Guadalupe River flood claimed 107 lives, including 37 children. By God’s grace, CRI gained exclusive early access to serve in the hardest-hit Bumblebee Hills neighborhood, mucking out homes, recovering cherished items, and providing trauma care. With 1,100+ volunteers, including Dripping Springs High School’s football team, and partners like Sanctuary Church, we’ve made a $1.1M impact, sharing 890+ ministry moments. Thank you to our incredible partners who made this relief work possible.

UPDATE #18

Crisis Response International continues to support flood survivors like Cindy and sisters Erin and Chris in Kerr County by funding appliances and replacing entire kitchens destroyed by the flood.

From refrigerators to washers and cabinetry, we encourage them to select high-quality items to reflect God’s abundant love, just as a good Father gives good gifts (Matthew 7:11). Your donations make this possible!

UPDATE #17

Our trained responders were among the first in Ingram and Hunt, aiding search and rescue, body recovery, and emergency operations in restricted zones along the Guadalupe River. Bumblebee Hills faced 5-9 ft of water, leaving homes without flood insurance and families without possessions. With over 1,000 volunteers, we’ve delivered trauma care, cleanup, prayer, and now insulation and sheetrock for 26 residences—$1M in impact. Now, we’re providing appliances for a grandmother, a VA nurse, and a retired firefighter. Your partnership can restore hope and share the Father’s heart.

UPDATE #16

CRI prayed with Texas families, then helped them pick their dream appliances—good gifts amid flood devastation, as James 1:17 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.” This eases their burden with care for body, soul, and spirit. A huge thank you to those who donated towards these appliances!

Catastrophic Flash Floods Hit Kern County Texas

Overview

The Guadalupe River’s catastrophic flooding, beginning July 4, 2025, has devastated Kerr County, Texas, with a current death toll of 134, including 37 children, and 101 people still missing. CRI, through God’s favor and rapid response, is serving beyond bureaucratic barriers, leading recovery efforts where other organizations face restricted access. Our teams are bringing hope and practical aid to a grieving community, guided by Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Current Operations

  • Team Deployment: CRI teams are fully operational. Ground leaders are coordinating with local authorities and survivors and managing hundreds of volunteers to restore an entire neighborhood entrusted to us by the county.

  • Rescue and Recovery Efforts:

    • Item Recovery: Teams are prayerfully searching debris to recover cherished items, connecting deeply with survivors to provide emotional and spiritual support.

    • Cadaver Search: CRI assists in somber searches along unsearched river areas, marking vehicles and clearing sites to aid families seeking closure.

    • Physical Aid: Volunteers are gutting homes, removing drywall, flooring, and water-soaked debris, and drying properties using blowers, dehumidifiers, and generators.

    • Chaplaincy Services: Our chaplains are offering trauma support, praying with families, and sharing God’s love to comfort those impacted.

  • Partnerships: We sincerely thank Somebody Cares and Rock Church for their generosity, fueling our vans, supplying critical resources, and sending chaplains to strengthen our spiritual support efforts.

Needs Assessment

  • Funds: Cash donations to purchase Home Depot, Lowe's and Walmart gift cards for survivors.

Call to Action

By God’s grace, CRI is working where others cannot, bringing hope to Kerr County. You can join this holy mission:

  • Pray: Lift up the families of the deceased. Pray for our teams for strength and divine guidance. Pray for meaningful connections/

  • Volunteer: Crisis Response International remains engaged in the area but no longer manages volunteer teams there, as residential cleanup has been successful enough to suspend organized large crews from our leadership.

  • Donate: Your gifts fuel God’s work. Contribute at https://www.criout.com/give/.
