The Coronavirus and Us

February 11, 2020 by Admin Crea Criout

The Coronavirus seems to be capturing the attention of people around the world.  Will it be a pandemic disease that affects life everywhere – who can tell? As children of our loving heavenly Father, what should our response be? It is interesting because this is not the first, nor will it be the last time, that we’ll face a life threatening disease or event. The world clamors with rumors of how it will affect us and what we must do to protect ourselves. Many of these solutions invoke fear and separation.  And without an intimate relationship with Christ, this terrible virus can spread worry, anxiousness and hopelessness everywhere, and even Christians are subject to letting their focus be upon only what they see and hear from the world.

But how would God have us respond to this or any other devastating situation that we will encounter? First of all let’s get back to God’s word and focus on it.  Ps 56:4 says, in God, whose word I praise, I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do to me. In this verse we have perspective and identity. God is in control and I am His child.

Secondly, we need to recognize God’s ability to keep us safe even in the midst of trouble. Exo. 15:26 “If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you… for I am the Lord that heals you.”

God’s people live in a place of provision and protection.  God is not only able to keep us from a disease, He is able to heal us even if we contract it. So as a child of the Father, we have no need to fear or worry about what we face here on earth. II Tim. 1:7 “For God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and of a sound mind.” So with that in mind, we don’t react in fear but instead we respond in a strong faith in our Lord.

Do we take precautions – definitely! In Neh. 4:18 we read that the builders of the wall wore their sword while they worked. They prepared for what could happen. And in Matt. 10:16 Jesus tells us to be aware of the enemies tactics, be wise as serpents. God would not have us to nothing. Be prepared. Use wisdom when traveling and as most of the sites say, wash, wash, wash. But don’t walk in worry or fear. God was not surprised by this.

Use this time to go deeper with Him and then seek the opportunities that He gives you to reach out to others.

A New Breed

January 23, 2020 by Admin Crea Criout

People often question whether “things” will get better or worse in the days ahead in terms of world events and natural disasters.

Some camps only speak of how bad things will become, gathering beans and guns, hunkering down in fear, waiting for Jesus to return.

Other groups imply things should only get better, the bad things are our fault, and Jesus will only return when we get our act together and dominate the world.

It’s a subject spoken of more than any other topic in the bible, but still, there is so much confusion about the “end-times.” No wonder people just want to stick their heads in the sand and avoid the subject altogether. What if the days ahead are both the darkest but yet the most glorious?

Joel 2 describes the day of the Lord coming near. He called it “the great and terrible day of the Lord”. Events leading up to Jesus’s return will be more challenging, but in that hour, the church will manifest the glory of God far exceeding the book of Acts.

“For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.” Isaiah 60:2

Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 all describe very distinct and escalating challenges coming upon the earth before the Lord’s return.

Great deception, false messiahs arise, global upheaval and war, widespread panic, seismic events of epic proportion, and horrible epidemics breakout. The word of God tells us that this is only the beginning of what’s to come.

This is followed by world-wide persecution and a great apostasy. Love for God and one another grows cold, hatred, and betrayal breaks out in The Church, and many are led astray by false teachers who point to a gospel that compromises righteousness, conforms to social pressures, and has economic benefits.

Get your bible out and read Matthew 24. This is really what it says.

However, it is not all bad, and we are encouraged to have a hope-filled eschatology. Look at what happens next!

But keep your hope to the end and you will experience life and deliverance. “Yet through it all, this joyful assurance of the realm of heaven’s kingdom will be proclaimed all over the world, providing every nation with a demonstration of the reality of God. And after this the end of this age will arrive.” Matthew 24:13-14 TPT

It is supremely interesting that in mission circles and gospel initiatives, the drive is to get the gospel to every tribe, tongue, and nation to fulfill the Great Commission, and then Jesus will return. This is really good, however, the context of when the Great Commission and the unique challenges of that day are often overlooked. This requires a moment to pause and think about what type of missionary is needed and how do we train them for that day. More on that in a moment but meanwhile…

“But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Matthew 24: 37-39

This passage also indicates that life will be also going on as normal. Meaning we normalize disasters, war and epidemics of epic proportions and just keep doing life as normal. 2 Peter 3-4 says, “Above all, you must understand that in the last days mockers will multiply, chasing after their evil desires. They will say, “So what about this promise of his coming?”.

Matthew 24 goes on to describe the very last of the last days and references the prophet, Daniel, in verse 15 and the antichrist. It is a subject most do not want to talk about or even believe in but let me point out in the book of Daniel in the midst of the antichrist’s rampage of death and destruction upon the earth it says this,”…but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.

Ha! During the most trying time upon planet earth, God’s hope-filled people will resist and overcome the challenges and will still be fruitful for the Kingdom!
We need to have a sober but hope-filled response to challenges the earth will be facing. We can know that in the coming great crisis that The Church will rise, and the gospel will go forth to every nation in the power of the Holy Spirit!

Do you want more proof?

Some say it’s getting darker, some say it’s getting brighter, I say, we have a job to do!

Consider this. When the disciples asked Jesus, “Lord is it now you are going to establish your Kingdom on earth? He replies…

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 ESV

Jesus intrinsically links the outpouring of the Spirit to “a last days” missions thrust and that you and I would be part of establishing His Kingdom and rule upon planet earth. People’s final words are usually the most important and usually stress their final wishes. Jesus’s final words also confirmed the prophet Joel.

The Lord Will Pour Out His Spirit And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit. And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. Joel 2: 28-32

You see, Jesus’s last words before leaving earth were underscoring His first words after His resurrection. His Great Commission for us to go to every nation in His power and authority. The outpouring of the Spirit instantly touched nations so that Jesus would receive the rewards of His sufferings, “The nations as His inheritance” as indicated in Psalm 2.

So the command remains:

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

As He shared these words, He was Jesus was speaking as our great prophet, yea more than a prophet, the very Son of God leading the great charge as our chief apostle into us into the nations on a mission. He underscores that He will be with us, and the mission will continue until the very end.

This should give us great hope that we do not have to hunker in fear for the days ahead, focusing only on how we will survive. The Spirit of God is available in increasing measure for us to go with power and authority to the darkest circumstances upon planet earth.

“I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father! John 14:12

So let’s take our heads out of the sand, there is trouble coming. We need to prepare for what’s coming but lets do it with a hope-filled perspective with 100% obedience to Jesus’s command. The hour demands that we train and raise up a new breed of missionary to go out with power in the hour we live.

At CRI, we are training and sending short-term Responders as well as full-time crisis missionaries from our mission base and training center in Blue Ridge, VA. Consider joining us for an upcoming training event or attend our missions school. Check them out here.

God Comes Down

January 21, 2020 by Admin Crea Criout

Hello CRI,

There are divine moments when God comes down and encounters his people to empower them for service or a specific mission. These moments change everything!

Moses, Abraham, Gideon, Peter, and Paul all had divine encounters that transformed their lives. These heavenly encounters thrust them into a mission and God gave them the power for the task.

When the Apostles received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, it was for a specific purpose. The Great Commission.

Picture this: Believers gathered for an extended period of time. Suddenly a mighty rushing wind fills the house, tongues of fire rest on each one. His presence inebriates the thirsty and the waiting.

“God-fearing Jews” from every nation under heaven were staying in Jerusalem and hear them speaking the mysteries of God in their native tongue.

They are utterly amazed and bewildered. Apostolic preaching breaks out, and they are cut to the heart and repent. Then they are baptized and filled with the Spirit.

When God comes down – it touches nations!

Immediately, they join a community on mission and signs, wonders and miracles break out. Not the work of man, but the work of the Spirit caused The Church to explode.

The question is not “does the Holy Spirit still come in power to fill us for mission,” but rather “how can we do missions outside of prayer, community, and an encounter of the Holy Spirit’s power?”

In Luke 24: 47-49, just before His ascension, Jesus says, “Now you must go into all the nations and preach repentance and forgiveness of sins so that they will turn to me. Start right here in Jerusalem. For you are my witnesses and have seen for yourselves all that has transpired. And I will send the fulfillment of the Father’s promise to you. So stay here in the city until the mighty power of heaven falls upon you and wraps around you.”

He was saying, “Look, I have granted you authority and have commissioned you; now you just need the power.” That day of the encounter was for the fulfillment of the Great Commission!

The Moravians: Empowered for Missions

Count Nikola Ludwig von Zinzendorf, a German nobleman, in the 1720s allotted land from his estate for the establishment of a small Moravian community so they could worship freely.

By 1727 they had developed a communal lifestyle – not all things held in common, but there was a spirit of generosity among them. There was great emphasis on prayer and scripture reading.

At one point, a season of discord and bickering arose. Count Zinzendorf and his wife pleaded with them to love one another, and the community took on a whole new spirit of love and preference for one another. This was a profound moment in the community, but then a month later, after a week of intense fasting and prayer, while together in worship, the power of the Holy Spirit fell on them.

An overwhelming and intensely deep sense of love, unity, and community broke out among them.

On February 10, 1728, the Moravians started prayer shifts to pray around the clock.

Prayer meetings went twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, for one hundred years.

They did not preach or argue doctrine but shared Jesus and focused on serving the people in very practical ways.

They had such passion for the Lord that some even sold themselves into slavery to reach the unreached. As they sailed from the dock to never see family again, they would yell, “Worthy is the Lamb to receive the reward of His sufferings.”

In twenty years, the Moravians did more regarding missions than the entire Protestant movement did in 200 years. This is attributed to the divine encounter of the Spirit among this group. As other denominations saw the work of the Moravians, they were inspired to do missions themselves. This move of God’s Spirit and power among the Moravians is called “the birth of modern missions.”

Now more than ever, at the CRI Base, it is our heart that God would encounter us in power, that prevailing prayer would never cease and that many will be sent out to all the nations of the earth.

It is our heart that when crisis strikes, we would raise up a Moravian watch, 24/7 as our teams are deployed in the field.

Katrina Outpouring

These two pictures were taken of my daughter Anna in New Orleans during our response efforts during Hurricane Katrina.

Prayer, desperation, and impartation were the catalysts for nine months of signs wonders and miracles breaking out among us.

Notice the tongues of fire over Anna’s head and the vessel symbolic of the outpouring we were experiencing.

We named Anna representing prayer and “Anna daily in the temple”. These pictures were taken in the upper room above the church in New Orleans.

God poured His Spirit mightily during our response to Katrina. We saw hundreds healed, saved, and delivered. I believe that an even greater glory is coming, and outrageous demonstrations of His power and mercy are going to break out on all we do, just like how the Spirit came again in ACTS 4!

Empower us, as your servants, to speak the word of God freely and courageously. Stretch out your hand of power through us to heal, and to move in signs and wonders by the name of your holy Son, Jesus!” At that moment the earth shook beneath them, causing the building they were in to tremble. Each one of them was filled with the Holy Spirit, and they proclaimed the word of God with unrestrained boldness.

All the believers were one in mind and heart. Selfishness was not a part of their community, for they shared everything they had with one another. The apostles gave powerful testimonies about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great measures of grace rested upon them all. Some who owned houses or land sold them and brought the proceeds before the apostles to distribute to those without. Not a single person among them was needy. Acts 4: 29-35

There is such a divine stirring in this new season! I know the CRI Base is to be a resource and a sending center. Prayer and missions will mingle together, and the Spirit’s power will thrust us out. We are so excited about the new thing He is doing and about the many who are coming in 2020 to join the work. (watch more)

As we continue to train and mobilize to crises around the world, run our mission schools, and reach out to our local community in Virginia, we also feel the Lord is expanding our reach into the nations with other short-term, Kingdom-building ministry trips.

Meanwhile, we just sent the 20th relief team to Puerto Rico, as our work continues in the Bahamas. I cannot help think of the Moravians and the first missionaries being sent to the Caribbean.

Great and effective doors are opening in 2020.

Currently, we are planning a signs and wonders conference for pastors in the Bahamas and I feel led to develop a permanent CRI outpost there for future Caribbean relief.

I have been asked to speak at the United Nations on disaster relief and international ministry trips have opened up to me in South America and beyond.

Next year we plan to expand the farm at the CRI Base with livestock and grow more of our own food. We intend to host new events and conferences, and I am working on a book.

There is much the Lord is calling us to do, we just need a broader partner base to move forward as well as more staff. (If you are currently a monthly partner, I am so grateful for your support.)

I humbly ask that you make CRI the place you sow a year-end gift so we can finish critical projects like the HOPE Building (video).

If you haven’t had the chance yet, become a monthly partner so you can champion all God is doing in this growing ministry.

As we celebrate the greatest rescue mission, the earth will ever know; God leaving the comforts of heaven and putting on flesh to save us.

I pray that you would encounter the Holy Spirit in such a way that you dare to depart the familiar into the uncharted territory of 2020.

I declare a new hunger for Holiness would overtake your heart, and you would live in wild faith to gain Him the rewards of His sufferings.

For His worth,

What You Really Need After The Storm – A Hurricane Survivor

August 31, 2019 by Admin Crea Criout

What I learned you really need in those first weeks after a major hurricane wipes out your community.

Go and buy a few burner phones from the other carrier from what you have. Do this now.

The kind of satellite phone, most of us, can afford does not work.

Get multiple am/FM radios and batteries – they are likely to be the only news or information source you will have for quite some time.

Fill cars of course and a dozen gas cans with gas – this is for your vehicle and generator. No power, no gas. In our case, pumps destroyed so no gas. There is no internet when power is back on. This means no credit cards anywhere. No cash, no gas.

Get cash. Be prepared for banks to be closed for potentially weeks. If you are a business, get enough money to make a two-week payroll at least. No internet so no payroll processing. And the auto-deposit or pay card would be useless to your employees anyway.

Communicate with your payroll company about plan B after the storm. Is there a point of contact you can give them? Your CPA, for example. Payroll processing will be a significant issue for many weeks. Vendors need to realize you can not make bank deposits because the banks are closed even if you might have a location open and sales. You can not process AP. Everyone just needs to hold tight.

If you are in the cone, assume the worst. Make contact with friends and family as they will be your lifeline to the real world. Every so often find a way to reach them. I found FB messenger worked well.

Honestly, filing a claim will be the least of your worries those first few weeks- you can not do it anyway with no phones, power, or internet.

Make a connect plan with employees and family. Meet at a determined location to help each other as soon as you can after the storm. When you go there, and no one is there – leave a message posted about your status and when you will be back. Eventually, you will connect.

To Buy:
Do not buy tons of bottled water – if it is a direct hit, you will have more bottle water pouring into your town than anyone could drink. But, you do need large volumes of water for flushing toilets, washing dishes, bathing off. So fill the bathtubs up, get a clean trash can you can sit outside to collect rainwater, get those camping cheaper plastic large water containers, and fill them. That will be your water crisis. Get some chlorine tablets or bleach to make sanitized water.

Sanitation will quickly become one of the most significant issues in your community. No running water, flushing toilets, hot water for hand wash, working outside in the nasty conditions, everything inside feels and is nasty with no AC or power, food spoilage, etc… Staying well becomes something you actually have to work for.

Buy a large solar shower bag to heat in the sun to warm. By day five, you will thank me. Baby wipes, clean, cheap thin wash clothes. You will be stinky beyond belief if it is 90 degrees and 80% humidity for weeks afterwards.

Have paper plates, forks, napkins, etc… washing dishes with no running water is not fun. Get an old fashion dishpan to do the dishes – you can’t fill up a sink with water. One for washing and one for rinsing in the bleach water.

Buy the generator- as big as you can afford. Test it out and have it ready before the storm. If you can get a whole-house generator, it will change your life post-storm and your neighbors. BTW they need oil, or they will shut down.

Get several propane bottles if you have a gas grill or bags of Charcoal if not. That will be the best tasting meat ever as you try to cook up what is thawing in the frig.

Have sunscreen and bug spray and body wipes in your day kit. You need a day kit. Take everything you might need for the day when you head out — everything. Advil, food, drinks, change of clothes. You don’t have the gas, energy, or time to make unnecessary trips.

Speaking of trips – what took 15-20 minutes to get to before will be hours. For me it was almost three hours for that short trip a dozen times or more. It will make you crazy, defeated, and overwhelmed but it will get better.

Food – bread, peanut butter, jelly – knife, and spoon. I can not tell you how many people I made a PBJ for out of the back of my car for weeks. Buy some bread and freeze it. Keep paper towels, those skinny wash clothes, etc.. handing someone a washcloth you have soaked in the cooler in the ice is a gift from above.

I lost 8 pounds in the first two weeks after the storm. You will forget to eat. You will sweat off the pounds. You WILL get dehydrated if you don’t pay attention. Between the heat, doing physical labor 8 or more hours a day outside, the stress – it is the hurricane recovery diet.

Fill all coolers with ice and keep inside not in a hot garage. You just will not believe how big of a deal having ice will become. If you own a restaurant go get all the ice from ice makers you can before it melts. Have folks bag some up and put in the freezer as a backup.

Curfews – make the very most out of the curfew hours you have if you need to get out to see about a business or others. It already gets dark early in October, and you have to be home by sunset.

If you have a weapon, know where it is, check it, and carry if you have a permit. Looting is a terrifying thing to watch happen and very scary when it happens in your own neighborhood.

Do not talk publicly about what you have at your home. People truly become desperate, so keep the fact you have a generator, food, ice, large volumes of water, gas, etc… to yourself and only share if you intend to share.

Do gather your important papers and photos, etc… when your ceiling falls in, and everything is wet, the wind is 155 mph, and you are scared, you will not be in a state of mind to start looking, and it is probably too late at that point.

Mold starts to grow in just a few days with no power/AC and everything wet. The papers inside of a drawer will be moldy.

If it is terrible like Michael, there will be no mail running for weeks, no FedEx/UPS delivering, no banking, no internet, no phone service cell or landline. Be prepared for no medical services if hospitals are destroyed like ours were – we had a 100% evacuation of every patient and nursing home patient in the county.

When they say to get your medicine, it is real! With no power, internet, deliveries for weeks, there is nowhere to fill a script and no delivery to have someone send to you.

People who lose everything, and people who have damage are two VERY different storm survivors.

Buy the best chain saw you can – forget trash bags and rakes we are talking trees here.

The tree trimmers show up first, the tarpers, then the debris moving people, then the abatement/interior demo people (the most dangerous bunch). I am speaking of those looking to make money. Then the roofers, the window people, the random contractors, more debris removal people. The signs go up for flooring, Sheetrock, painting, cabinets. You can watch the progression of things by who’s real-estate sign was planted at the entrance to your community the night before.

Buy tarps, furring strips to nail it to the roof, roofing nails, a ladder that reaches your roof. The longer you wait to tarp, the faster the mold will come, and it will come.

You will not have garbage pick up for many weeks – have some outside trash bags to store the garbage in so it is not so nasty.

If you get a newspaper delivered, the first day it shows up after the storm will be a huge sign of hope for things getting better.

Take lots of pictures, and I mean lots. Take pre-pictures of your home, inside your frig, pantry, cabinets. Take post pictures but not just with insurance in mind. You will be glad you did.

If you can reach someone out of town that has power/internet/phone, they can call in your claim to insurance and FEMA for you. So get someone your policy info if you can. It just gets you in the very long queue, but nothing much happens with insurance for quite some time.

Possibly you and if not many other someones will need temp shelter/housing. The shelters will already be full. If you work for a large company like Publix, they will bring in temporary shelter bunkhouse like trailers, shower/bathroom trailers, trailers that have washers and dryers running off generators and portable water tanks, etc… And an ice truck which is amazing and free to everyone. They will be the first grocery store to get open, but it will take many weeks.

You will always remember the traffic, five or more hours a day in your car. The heat and humidity, how quiet everything is, the smoke and security alarms were going off for many days – that will be all you hear at first. Then you hear the helicopters and then the chain saws being and that goes on for months.

You will be in shock. You just will. It is numbing to see so much destruction. You will not remember the details of the days following. I wish I had journaled or taken notes every day- just a little something to help you look back and process what happened.

You will appreciate and understand who “your people are” because they will show up in force. The five-star ones will show up without being asked. You will need those you love and care about to bear witness to what happened. You just need to be seen.
Many will not get it. If you are alive, then you are okay to them. You desperately need physical help, desperately. But you need the support. You will be in a grieving period shortly afterward. Shock and trauma, coupled with the pure raw physically exertion, is debilitating. If you own a business, you can multiply all of that by a 100.

They will not grasp the gravity of what has happened, and frankly, it would hard for anyone to do. They will never know how much you needed them when they did not come, a conversation I had with dozens of folks – just let it go and appreciate those who are there. You will be surprised who comes to your aid and those who just truck on as if nothing has happened. And you will still be okay.

God speed and prayers to everyone in the path of this storm. When I saw the fist angry red symbol of the path, the hair on my arms stood up — a truly visceral response.

Our community is in no way able to handle another hurricane – physically much less mentally.

It’s not just the actual time the hurricane makes landfall, but when you have lived this, you know what it will mean for the next few years of your life after is has passed over.

When a big one hits, you will experience real trauma, perhaps for the first time in your life.

You will never be the same.”

Have you lost power?

July 25, 2019 by Admin Crea Criout

reset-2019

NEED A HOLY SPIRIT RESET?

Does it feel like nothing is working or even everything has been against you?
Rest assured, God is for you and NOT against you. His plans for you are GOOD and not for evil. Just settle that right now!
Just like a circuit breaker that gets tripped; When suddenly the power goes off in our lives, and nothing is working, it may be a sign the Lord wants to “RESET” you.

There are three main reasons a circuit breaker trips and the power shuts off.

Circuit Overload – This occurs when too much power runs through a circuit; it is overloaded. We add shiny new appliances or even new additions to the house, and we do not upgrade our power supply and connections. We need to be careful not to take on more than we are rated for or bear “loads” that are not ours. New breakers need to be added to distribute the power and carry the additional loads. Likewise, in our own lives, we need to stay focused on the assignment God gave us to do and not look to the left or the right. Taking time to RESET helps us reconnect with the original call and our first love with Christ.

Short Circuit – This occurs when we get our wires crossed. This speaks of misunderstanding our assignment. Our insulation is worn thin, or we are frayed or broken, and we start “arcing” to others around us. The breaker trips to protect from a fire burning down the house or people being hurt. There are times when we need to set aside time to seek the face of God and hear what he has for us in the next season.

Ground Fault – Much like a “short circuit.” This occurs when a hot wire touches a ground wire. When you start fault-finding, it’s a sign that it is time to shut the power off and get “rewired.” We need to make sure our lives are adequately grounded in the written Word of God and that we are properly aligned and connected to the God-ordained relationships around us.

Rather than try to keep running with an outdated operating system that keeps shorting out, it’s time to embrace the work of the Lord so He can bring a greater flow of power into your life!

Start by taking a spiritual inventory, being honest with yourself and bring it all to the Lord.

This reset is an invitation that can be resisted but you will remain outdated and lack the power to accomplish what’s before you.

Come spend a long weekend with friends and family August 2-4 at the CRI Base reconnecting, relaxing and resetting, together.
Much of our time will be spontaneous but we are sure we will have rich times of worship, personal ministry and breakthrough.

Elijah List features Sean Malone

April 19, 2019 by Admin Crea Criout

The Elijah List featured a timely and prophetic word by CRI co-founder and director, Sean Malone this Good Friday. Sean reminds us that it is in the context of great shaking and turmoil that the gospel will be fulfilled. Malone points readers back to the Scriptures to help understand the shaking many are experiencing and/or hearing about on the daily news.

In the article, Malone calls for a new type of missionary training, “If we believe the Great Commission is to be fulfilled in our day, and that WE ALL are to play a part in fulfilling it, then we need to train for missions and outreaches differently.”

We need to prepare for ministry in the context of crisis, something that we have been sounding the alarm for the church to respond to.
