Wildfires Burn 10,000 Acres in New Jersey
Crisis Alert: New Jersey Wildfires
Wildfires broke out in New Jersey this past weekend, destroying 10,000 acres of Penn State Forest in Burlington County, New Jersey, after a brush fire and strong winds spread the fire across the state. No evacuations were orders and as of Sunday, approximately 75% of the fire is contained.
50 firefighters and 17 trucks from the state’s Forest Fire Service working to contain the fire, according to local news.
Accuweather reports, “While Route 72 was closed in the vicinity of the fire for a time this weekend, no structures are in immediate danger, and no evacuations have been ordered.
However, many took note of the smoke on social media from areas as far away as New York City.”

Wildfire Outbreak in Florida Forces Evacuations

20 Homes Evacuated, 668 acres affected by Florida wildfires
At least 20 homes were evacuated this weekend in Bay County, Florida as wildfires spread across the county Saturday and into Sunday.
According to the Weather Channel, “The Florida Forest Service said the fire was 50 percent contained by 6 p.m. Saturday, but strong winds caused the fire to flare up in other areas. Strong northerly winds were pushing the fire south on Sunday.” As of 3 hours ago the fire was 50% contained at this time and 668 acres affected.
The fires broke out not far from where Hurricane Michael touched down this past October, approximately 13 miles southeast of Panama City, Florida.
First Responders included 24 firefighters, 9 bulldozers, 2 aircraft on scene and more resources are arriving soon.
As recently as Wednesday, homeowners in the area were advised to use extreme caution with burning any debris until the area receives fresh rainfall.
Due to the amount of wood still on the ground in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael, the Florida Fire Service advised on March 13, “The fire threat created by Hurricane Michael damage is major… and if it’s not addressed, it could only get worse. The wood on the ground after the storm would fill 2.5 million log trucks.”
Diseases Spreading from Poor Sanitation, Polluted Water in Mozambique
Thousands Impacted by Ongoing Crisis in Mozambique, at least 139 cases of Cholera identified
In the aftermath of Cyclone Idai that ravaged Mozambique two weeks ago, the country is now facing a new threat – the outbreak of Cholera, a disease that spreads from contaminated water and is known for causing acute diarrhea and dehydration. Already 139 cases have been identified in individuals in Mozambique, as conditions worsen in the area. Left untreated the disease is considered deadly. Over 700 people were killed from the cyclone, thousands lost their homes and belongings, and entire communities and their sanitation systems were wiped out, resulting in the current crisis of sanitation and pollution impacted thousands of people.
According to officials on the ground, impacted communities are relying on polluted water, as flooding and poor sanitation is causing ongoing crisis in the land, and is a breeding ground for diseases like Cholera.
The storm wiped out sanitation systems throughout Mozambique, leaving 1.8 million residents at risk from water-borne diseases. To combat the spread of cholera, the World Health Organization sent 900,000 cholera vaccines to the country, AP reported.
A story I had to share

Six years ago we were looking for property to run missions schools and disaster relief training. A beloved mentor sent this sketch that he saw in a dream. He told us this, “Keep an eye out for this building.”
Today, we are thrilled to say that we bought that building and 20 others with it as we officially closed on the 85-acre mission base.
50 years later, almost to the day!
March 2nd, 1969, during a snowstorm, the original founder of the camp raised enough money to purchase the property. 50 years later almost to the day, CRI closed on the property, and it began to snow.
This property is meant to be a “Sending Center” that will be part of mobilizing a fresh wave of evangelism and missions into the earth.
We are asking for volunteers, mission teams and youth groups to come help us. We need help with painting, maintenance, organizing, cleaning, carpentry, electrical work, general labor and farm help.
Our teams need a golf cart, bulk vinyl flooring, industrial pallet racking, LED lighting and new garage doors to keep
